Mavericks' Irving Scores Season-High 48 in OT Thriller

Exum's Buzzer-Beater Forces Extra Period Against Rockets

WEB DALLAS -- Kyrie Irving poured in a season-high 48 points as the Dallas Mavericks rallied from a 15-point deficit to defeat the Houston Rockets 133-126 in overtime on Thursday night. Dante Exum's buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of regulation sent the game into extra time.

With superstars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving still on the injury list, the Mavericks faced a tough challenge against a young and hungry Rockets squad. However, Irving took over in the second half, scoring 27 points in the third and fourth quarters to keep Dallas in the game.

In the final seconds of regulation, Exum dribbled up the court and pulled up from beyond the arc as the buzzer sounded. The shot banked in, sending the game into overtime. Irving scored eight of Dallas' 12 points in the extra period to seal the victory.

Christian Wood added 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Mavericks, while Dwight Powell chipped in with 17 points and nine rebounds. Jalen Green led the Rockets with 33 points, followed by Kevin Porter Jr. with 25 points.
