Hayden Panettiere is speaking out for the first time about the death of her younger brother, Jansen. In an interview with People, the actress said she is "still in shock" over the loss of her sibling, who died in February at the age of 28. "I've been trying to find the words, but they don't exist," she said. "I lost half my soul."

Panettiere Says Her Brother Was a 'Beautiful Soul'

Panettiere said her brother was a "beautiful soul" who was always there for her. "He was my best friend and my biggest supporter," she said. "He was always there for me, no matter what. He was the most kind and gentle soul I have ever known."

Panettiere also said her brother was a talented artist who loved to paint and play music. "He was so creative and had so much potential," she said. "I am so proud of the man he became."

Panettiere Is Asking for Privacy

Panettiere asked for privacy as she grieves the loss of her brother. "I am so grateful for the outpouring of love and support I have received from my family, friends, and fans," she said. "I am taking time to heal and be with my family. Thank you for understanding."

Jansen Panettiere was found dead in his apartment in New York City on February 19. The cause of death has not been released.
